Grace Belcher of Madisonville, passed from this life to her Heavenly home at 7:35 p.m., Friday, March 25, at Wood Presbyterian Home. She was born March 29, 1916 and was a member of South Madisonville Baptist Church. She was a former employee of Carolyn Chenille of Sweetwater. While at home, she enjoyed her flowers and was always giving her violets away to family and friends. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother.
She was 94.
Preceded in death by: her son, Robert Belcher; sister, Geneva Morrow; and brother, Raymond Crowder.
Survivors include: daughters and sons-in-law-Johnnie Ruth Graham of Niota; Carolyn and Randy Hawkins of Danville, Ky.; Margaret and Gerald Rogers of Fayetteville, Ga.;
Sons-Joe Belcher and David Belcher, both of Madisonville;
Twenty grandchildren;
Twenty-five great-grandchildren;
Five great-great-grandchildren;
Sisters-Imogene Miller and Hilda Jo Hipps, both of Maryville;
Brother and sister-in-law-Richard Morrow of Portage, Ind.;
Special friend-Barbara Stallans of Madisonville;
Several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express their thanks to the staff, nurses and aides at Wood Presbyterian Home, where she spent the last eight years of her life. They are very pleased with the love and care she received while she was there. A special thanks to the family members who devoted such loving care each day. Thanks also to the pastors who were faithful to visit and those who came to sing and bring encouragement to her. May God bless each of you.
A Celebration of Life will be 8 p.m., Monday, at Biereley-Hale Chapel, with Rev. Rick Harris and Rev. Johnny Carr officiating. Interment will be 11 a.m., Tuesday, in Haven Hill Memorial Gardens with Rev. Larry Gibby officiating. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., before the services.
