DENTON, BETTY SUE WRIGHT, age 69, of Maple Lane, Madisonville, passed away  9:30 a.m. Sunday, April 12, 2020 at home. She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church where she served as the secretary and pianist. She was kind-hearted and had a giving spirit. She brought joy to all who knew her.
Survivors: husband of 44 years, Jim Denton; brother and sisters-in-law, Verlin and Nelda Wright, Linda Wright; nephews, Tony, Dennis, and Chris Wright, all of Madisonville, Patrick Wright, of North Carolina; nieces, Mandy Wright, of Madisonville; Doris McWhorter, Nancy Borders, both of Macon, GA. Betty is the God-mother of Lela G. Wright. She has 14 great-nieces and nephews. She has one great-great nephew. Betty is also the step-mother and mother-in-law, to Eddie and Fi Fi Pai Denton, of Murfreesboro, Kenneth and Karen Denton, of Cleveland. Betty is also the step-grandmother to 5 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Her special friends are Kittie Waller and Chad and Janet Wilburn.
She was preceded in death by parents, Hurshell and Roxie Wright; brothers, Kenneth and Hershell E. Wright; grandparents, John and Alice Wright; nephew, Lewis Wright.
A drive-in graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Hopewell Springs Cemetery. Rev. Chad Wilburn and Rev. David Davis will officiate. Due to current COVID-19 restrictions, friends are asked to stay in their cars.  An online guestbook is available at biereleyhale.com.
