Harold had many traits during his life. As a businessman, he was the owner and founder of Tellico Auto Parts 1970-1980, he also owned auto parts stores in Sweetwater and Etowah. He was known in the textile industry as a sewing machine mechanic and thread sales engineer which led him to work in other countries including Honduras, Columbia and Puerto Rico. In the 70’s and 80’s he was a known horseman competing in horse show events all over the Southeast, winning state championships in his style and class in Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina; with his best accomplishment as a World Champion in the 4-year-old non-Saddlebred class while riding his Little Tenn Trooper, better known as “T” who went on to win many more shows with other owners.

Harold was best known for his musical talent. He played several instruments including guitar, steel guitar, piano, and bass guitar; he was a very talented singer as well. Music was his passion and he loved country music. He was a Chet Atkins style picker and was very good at it. He once played a show for Tammy Wynette. In the late 60’s and early 70’s, he played with Bob Brackett and the Country Raiders, who were very popular at the time. Harold did not want any type of funeral service. He wanted to be remembered by his family and friends as he was, doing the things he loved. His family asks those who knew him to celebrate his life the best way they see fit – that’s what he would want.

Arrangements by Biereley-Hale Funeral Home, Madisonville.
