Victor Dale Patterson of the Ballplay Community, Madisonville, went home to be with our Lord, surrounded by his loving family Friday,May 9, 2014.

Dale was born Aug. 10, 1942. He was a lifelong resident of the Ballplay Community. He was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Madisonville. He was an agent and served on the Board of Directors for Monroe County Mutual Fire Insurance Company. He served as a Charter Member, on the Board of Directors, Treasurer and Secretary for the Ballplay Fire Department. Dale enjoyed working on the farm with his many animals. He was 71.

Preceded in death by: infant son; parents, Ralph Brown Patterson and Catherine Sloan Patterson; grandparents, John R. Sloan and Martha Henry Sloan, Charlie and Nannie Henderson Patterson and in-laws, Garfield and Imogene Farner Kirkland.

Survivors include: wife of 48 years, Betty Kirkland Patterson; Son, Bryan Patterson; Daughter, Leann Patterson; Grandchildren, Chandler Patterson and Chesney McDonald; Aunt, Alice Ervin; Many loving cousins and friends.

The Patterson Family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Blount Memorial Hospital for all their kindness during his illness. Dale was always ready for a joke and a good story. He always had a laugh and smile for everyone he met.

Funeral 8 p.m. Monday, Bethelehem Baptist Church, Rev. Frank Hicks officiating. Interment 2 p.m. Tuesday, Little Tellico Baptist Cemetery. Receiving friends 6-8 p.m. Monday at Bethlehem Baptist Church. Arrangements by Biereley-Hale Funeral Home, Madisonville. -
