John Harley Joines was born October 17, 1888 in Madisonville, Tennessee third child of William Newton Joines and Huretta C. McCaslin. He died October 16, 1978. He was married February 28, 1911, to Susan Estella (Stella) Wilson. Susan was born November 25, 1887 to Thomas Franklin Wilson and Nancy Lucinda Hicks. Susan died January 8, 1942. Both John Harley and Susan and some of their children are buried in Chestua Baptist Church cemetery in Madisonville, Tennessee.

Harley and Susan had 12 children.

Their first infant was born and died in 1920.

Their second child was born September 23, 1924 and died October 8, 1924.

Their third child was a daughter, Bessie Mae Joines born January 31, 1912 and died in 1963 she married Ralph Strohscher and their child is Anita Louise Strohscher born April 27, 1936. She married Richard Manzeck and their two children are Linda Manzeck born August 17, 1962 and Kathy Manzeck born September 4, 1964.

Their forth child was James Leon Joines born September 17, 1913 who was married to Laura E. Nix in 1935 and their only child is Wilma Joines born March 1937. She married Don Mull and their two children are Gathen Mull born December 31, 1959 and Jill Mull born May 3, 1964.

Their fifth child was Mary Louise Joines who was married to Raymond Tallent and their child is Edward Tallent born December 5, 1936 who married Inez Young.

The sixth child was Francis Joines.

Then the seventh child was Earl Wilson Joines born August 25, 1917 and married Euna Raye Raper and their five children are Ronald Joines born June 18, 1939. He married Josephine Cooper and their three children are Donna Joines born June 20, 1961 who married David Orr and their two children are David Or, II born March 29, 1970 and Douglas Orr bron March 9, 1974. robert Joines born July 27, 1943 married Novada Ann Borning and their child is Richard Earl Joines born February 15, 1967.

Eighth child was Alice Joines who was married to Lee.

Ninth child was Margaret Joines.

Tenth was Emma Ruth Joines.

The last children were Mary Etta Joines and Harley was also married to Cleo Raper and they had one child, William Joines Born March 7,.
