Wesley Joines is listed in the 1860 Census of Wilkes County, North Carolina.

On October 25, 1920, when Wesley was 87 years old he wrote a letter to his
nephew George Blevins in which he described the early Joines Family in
Northwestern North Carolina. This letter was published in the book entitled
"The Ancestry of Della Blevins Graham" written by Della B. Graham in 1955.
