Below Contributed by: Reese Edwin Ervin III Uncle Dave had two children: Rees was named after "Racer" Rees. I remember my Granddad telling me he was named after an aunt's husband. (Webmaster note: Dave's sister, Lucy Ervin married Reese "Racer" Rees). Rees went off to the Navy in 1941 or 42 and married my Grandmother, Dorothy, in 1945 while on leave in Grand Junction, CO. Rees Edwin and Dorothy Ervin had 4 children: Reese Edwin Jr married Agnee Hale in 1981 and had 3 boys:
My dad, Reese Edwin Ervin Jr, told me his grand mother, Mary Nell Ervin (my great grandmother and your "Uncle Dave's" wife) said Uncle Dave's father was named "Lafayette." Many years ago when I was 13 or 14, I was left in a library with an 1850 Monroe county census. Sure enough, I found a Lafayette Ervin born approximately 1848 to a George Ervin. Thanks to Reese Edwin Ervin III for the above right information! |
